Fellow Conservative,

This coming week, the Senate is planning to vote on the confirmation of Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Office of Management and Budget — Neera Tanden.

As grassroots activists, we must not forget that people are policy, and Tanden’s policy positions are clear: She’ll use the OMB as a choke point for federal policy, utilizing regulatory power to bypass lawmakers and implement the progressive agenda via executive edict.

As a key proponent of the Affordable Care Act and the current head of the Center for American Progress, Neera Tanden has been central to the most extreme left-wing policies.

Tanden is also known for repeatedly and viciously attacking everybody and anybody on Twitter, including U.S. Senators from both sides of the aisle — the same Senators she may need to support her confirmation (this is one reason she has quietly deleted over 1,000 tweets since being nominated).

On Friday, a coalition of Conservative groups including Heritage Action, Club for Growth, the American Conservative Union, March for Life Action, and FreedomWorks released a joint statement opposing her confirmation.

Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson had this to say about Tanden’s confirmation vote:

Senators should reject Neera Tanden's nomination to lead the Office of Management and Budget. As a former OMB staffer under President Trump, I know that this little-known office is one of the most powerful in the federal government and has significant influence across the entire executive branch. If Tanden is confirmed, she promises to return to the failed left-wing playbook of expanded bureaucracy and costly job-killing regulations, along with government-run healthcare, blanket amnesty, and a host of disastrous Left-wing policies.

Heritage Action also released a key vote on Friday urging Senators to VOTE NO on Neera Tanden’s confirmation.

Neera Tanden’s support for far-left policies and bureaucratic governance disqualifies her to run OMB and oversee the entirety of the executive branch. Neera Tanden’s true allegiance lies with the far Left side of her party, not the American people.

But here’s the thing… we will only be effective if the Senate hears from all of us.

Use our issue toolkit to call your senators, voice your concerns, and oppose Tanden’s confirmation!

Jessica Anderson’s Op-Ed in The Hill — Jessica highlighted many of the concerning aspects of the immigration policy that is taking place less than a month into President Biden’s term. This includes executive orders loosening border security, a bill giving 11 million illegal immigrants amnesty, halting the construction of the border wall, and much more. Jessica stated, “Biden’s message is clear: America is open to anyone who can make it across the Rio Grande. But if you own a small business or want to send your children to school in the United States, America is closed.” Read the full article here.

Garrett Bess in the Daily Caller — With a razor-thin majority in both the House and Senate, it would be expected that Democrats would toss out partisan policies and aim for ones that could receive bipartisan support. Garrett Bess lays out how Democrats are not only choosing to stick to their partisan policies, they are rigging the rules to make it easier to advance their left-wing agenda and to win elections. Read more about how the Democrats are changing the playbook here.
