This pandemic has forced us into a generational crisis, the likes of which we haven’t seen since the Great Depression.

Now, eleven months into this pandemic, over ten million Americans are still unemployed. In addition to facing higher rates of infection, these economic conditions are felt most harshly by Black and Brown Americans.

But despite this, some of my colleagues in Congress want to reduce the stimulus payments AND reduce the number of middle-class Americans who would be eligible to receive them. The lack of moral conscience is utterly shocking and appalling to me.

This isn’t a time to think small. Most families can’t wait any longer for help.
