John, we need to show you the latest attack campaign the GOP has launched on Cori.
This week, after people who are incarcerated and their families raised grave concerns regarding the conditions of St. Louis jails, Cori took swift action and sent a letter to City officials demanding an investigation into COVID-19 case rates, a plan to improve conditions, and implementation of policies that address mass-incarceration.
And like clockwork, Republicans and right-wing media were ready to attack her efforts to prioritize the human rights of those who are incarcerated in St. Louis and across the country, claiming she is siding with “rioters.” Just look at these warped headlines:
Let’s show Cori that we stand with her as she fends off these attacks and continues her work to protect the basic human rights of those incarcerated. Can you make a donation of anything you can afford today to show Cori some love in this fight?

The right’s attempt to compare those fighting for their lives in these facilities with unsafe conditions to the seditious, white supremacist, insurrectionist attack on the Capitol is disgraceful and disgusting. And now, they are doing everything they can to paint Cori as an inciter of violence, even trying to twist the meaning of an MLK quote Cori used, while members of their own party encouraged the attack on the Capitol just last month.
The real story behind this fight is Cori working to ensure that the urgent needs of people who are incarcerated are not ignored as they scream out for help.
And if the right wants to attack Cori for humanizing those who are incarcerated — especially Black folks — then she is ready to take on those blows to keep fighting for the treatment and safety of our community members.
Together,
Team Cori
