Truth is Worth Defending

The fight to preserve the American way of life within the nation itself is more fraught than it has been for quite some time.

Not only are our country’s politics increasingly polarized, but millions of Americans no longer know or understand their nation’s founding principles. Without this framework, there is diminished hope of winning debates over what are shaping up to be the most critical issues of our time, let alone opportunity of even engaging in those debates.

This is where the work of Intellectual Takeout, Chronicles magazine, and Charlemagne Institute is so critical. In a world which has abandoned truth and beauty in favor of moral relativism and historical revisionism, Charlemagne and its publications strive to advance a positive vision rooted in the Greco-Roman Judeo-Christian tradition. But there are many who, for their own purposes, do not want these timeless truths to be told.

Throughout 2020 and into the new year, Intellectual Takeout and Chronicles have continued to publish high-quality editorial content all of which has presented a compelling case for American exceptionalism and the primacy of Western Civilization. While the substance of what we do has not changed, the response from Big Tech has been nothing short of revolutionary.

Facebook has at times banned Intellectual Takeout from posting content to our Facebook page, a move that has significantly limited our reach these past months. Indeed, starting on the Friday before the election, Facebook blocked us from posting ANY content. (What we were told at the time was that we were “spamming,” yet Facebook’s own analytics showed that we hadn’t had a single complaint about spam. A week after the election, we were allowed to publish again. That is Big Tech today.

But fear not! We remain resolute, and we have diligently pursued alternate social media channels, including Parler until, well, you know what Amazon did to them! Again, this is Big Tech today.

The challenge to distribute our message has become an equal or even greater effort than crafting it in the first place. While we have thousands of years of great thinkers to draw from, we are in new waters in contending with censorship by the mainstream media and Big Tech. We need your help. Passing on truth depends on the efforts of every individual, and we depend on your generosity to be able to continue our work.

If you believe there are absolute truths worth defending, please consider joining us to help spread a positive Judeo-Christian view of America’s future.

A contribution of $50, $100, or even $250 will be a big, big help as we expand our readership and develop alternative communications channels. I do hope you will join with us to be a light in the darkness, standing for the freedom and traditions that make America great.

Sincerely,
