February 1st marked the beginning of Black History Month, and in that honor, we have committed to celebrating each day by uplifting black voices, sharing black owned businesses, important figures, organizations, educational opportunities, and so forth in our Instagram stories!

This past year was monumental for social activism. We saw the importance of the #blacklivesmatter movement, along with more frequent discussion of dismantling systemic racism and the very long-overdue attention nationwide in addressing these issues.

This month, we celebrate the countless contributions, stories of the beautiful resiliency of communities that are often overlooked. They are fundamental to this country.

** Program Updates:
------------------------------------------------------------
Our water drop team works tirelessly weekend after weekend to make sure that anyone who is in need of water or a care package might come across these life saving supplies.

On the top right photo you can see that the entire drop station was completely consumed, or supplies taken from this station. Our Water Drop directors, and even some of the advanced volunteers, scout new routes often in order to reach new areas that may be in need of supplies. The bottom left photo is what a newly replenished site can look like. We always hope someone in need comes across these sites.

Our team cleans up the desert every time they go out and they return with several pounds of trash at a time.

Thank you to everyone who donates to our Water Drop program so we may continue our mission!

GOOD FOOD MAKES THE SOUL HAPPY!
We love receiving pictures and videos not only from all the groceries and supplies our shelters are able to purchase, but ones like this one where our shelter friends try out some traditional Mexican dishes like menudo made from those very groceries!

We are forever grateful to all of you for continuing to support our Shelter Aid program, and allowing us to provide another month of rent, utilities, and so much more. We continue to meet with our shelter directors to ensure everyone’s needs are being met.

It’s all of you that keep us going, and ensuring this work continues. Thank you!

Alexa is a teenager who was facing deportation due to a past lawyer's error. Through our program, and the work of attorney Fabiola Navarro, Alexa’s deportation was halted and she was able to receive the very first green card!

Alexa was able to both graduate high school, and go off to college with legal permanent residency!! We are so very grateful to everyone who ha supported this program, we share this victory with you!

Gracias Fabiola!
