Help pass the Global HER Act

Last week, on the same day that President Biden repealed the Global Gag Rule, the Global Health, Empowerment and Rights (HER) Act was reintroduced in both the House and Senate.

These bills—S. 142, sponsored by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), and H.R. 556, led by Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Ami Bera (D-CA), and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)—will prevent a future president from re-imposing this disgraceful and harmful policy by executive memorandum.

When in place, the Global Gag Rule weakens efforts to provide comprehensive reproductive health care, ease poverty, address climate change, and build a healthier planet for everyone. That’s what makes the Global HER Act so crucial. By preventing the return of the Global Gag Rule, it will provide needed stability to health care providers—and the people in vulnerable communities who they serve.

Join us for our virtual 2021 Capitol Hill Days!

Capitol Hill Days 2021 is taking place from March 17-21—virtually! Hosted by Population Connection and Population Connection Action Fund, this annual advocacy conference brings together activists and advocates from across the country and around the world to talk about global reproductive health, environmental, and population issues. Capitol Hill Days is free to attend, but requires registration.

January volunteer call celebrates our wins!

After a year that brought so much uncertainty, we were grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our huge wins with nearly 80 #Fight4HER activists on our January National Volunteer Call.

Attendees heard from volunteer leaders, Population Connection Action Fund staff, and activists about what we can do to pass the Global HER Act so that no future president can ever unilaterally reinstate the Global Gag Rule again.
