Donald Trump’s lawyers just attacked Ayanna by comparing her support for peaceful protestors to Donald Trump’s dangerous lies and intentional attacks that led to the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
This is a transparent attempt to draw false equivalence and absolve Donald Trump of his active role in inciting a violent, white supremacist mob to attack the U.S. Capitol.
Trump put our very democracy and the lives of thousands of lawmakers, staff, law enforcement, and other Capitol workers at risk. He must be convicted and blocked from ever running for federal office again.
Trump’s attorneys are aiming their racist, misogynist attacks at Ayanna and our movement because she has been an unapologetic leader in calling out his corruption and cruelty from day one.
