Today, I am proud to announce I have signed on to co-sponsor HB-13 to address our affordable housing crisis.
In the last few weeks, I've toured a Veteran's home with Volunteers of America, walked local projects with Habitat for Humanity, and taken calls from new parents who are facing eviction with nowhere else to turn and finding there are simply no beds available. So today, I'm taking action.
The Sadowsky Trust Fund is how our state funds affordable housing. It has been raided by our legislature nearly every year since 2002, when the practice was done for the first time. In some years, every penny was taken from the program...
HB-13 changes that and protects the Sadowsky Trust Fund so all of our affordable housing funds can only be spent on affordable housing.
I'm proud to join this bipartisan effort to protect our most vulnerable in their time of need. I'm standing up for them, and I hope you will stand by me in this effort by forwarding, sharing, and calling to advance this important bill through the process.
