The month of love has finally arrived!
Valentine's Day can be a wonderful time to celebrate the love you have for your significant other, family members, and friends. But Valentine's Day should not just be about showing how much you care for others. It should be about caring for yourself too. Here at Breathe SoCal, we believe that caring for yourself means caring for your body – especially your lungs!
Our lungs are responsible for converting oxygen to carbon dioxide and passing it through our bloodstream to other organs and tissues, keeping us alive. But this process is precarious and many factors can impede its function.
So why not give your lungs the love they deserve this month and take them out for Valentine's Day?
We're not suggesting you buy your lungs a box of chocolates or a bouquet of roses (although, you should go for it if that's your thing). But, there are many activities that you can take part in to give your lungs some tender loving care, such as aerobic exercise or refining your breathing technique.
Loving your lungs also involves learning about them! Read below to hear about the biology behind one of the most common lung diseases – asthma – and RSVP for our February Lung Power webinars to learn about how you can better manage your (or your child's) asthma.
