Fires in the Amazon rainforest – your help needed

The Amazon rainforest, known as the "lungs of the world" – are burning at an alarming rate. The rainforest covers millions of square miles across nine countries, including Bolivia, where an area roughly the size of Delaware has been destroyed.

Oxfam and our partners are on the ground in Bolivia, where we're coordinating with the government to provide clean water to indigenous communities and make sure families have enough food to eat. But more support is needed to reach the people in need affected by these fires. We're turning to the Oxfam community for help.

Long after the global climate strikes fade from headlines, she wants to continue showing more students the connection between climate and other critical issues – from forced migration to the fight to end hunger.

What I learned from Cyclone Idai and Kenneth survivors in Mozambique

In March, Cyclone Idai made landfall in Mozambique, destroying homes, crops, roads, and livelihoods. Less than six weeks later, Cyclone Kenneth struck northern Mozambique and was registered as the strongest cyclone to hit Africa in recorded history. Oxfam has been responding to the crisis, which includes gathering information about what survivors need.
