Is President Biden saving the world by sacrificing our energy independence? No. In fact it may even increase global emissions. Here is why:

 - Rejoining the Paris Climate Accords gives a free pass to China, allowing the world's top polluter to continue to emit carbon while we restrict our economy here at home. 

 - Cancelling the Keystone pipeline will just force energy transport by other pipelines, or by truck or rail, which are less safe and less environmentally friendly than pipelines. 

 - Banning oil and gas drilling on federal land will cede American energy dominance to polluters like Russia and Saudia Arabia and Venezuela, who don't follow any environmental regulations when producing energy. 

This is on top of the millions of jobs across the country and hundreds of thousands of jobs here in Texas at risk because of President Biden's actions. This administration is destroying livelihoods for absolutely no environmental benefit.

Here's the other thing: it doesn't have to be this way. We can protect jobs and our economy and American energy independence and our environment all at once.

Natural gas has been the single largest factor in reducing our emissions in the U.S. and experts agree that exporting our natural gas will help reduce GLOBAL emissions.

In fact, Fatih Birol, Director of the International Energy Agency, said that if American natural gas replaces coal in Asia, it can lead to significant emission declines, both in terms of carbon dioxide as well as air pollution. 

So when one of our Democrat witnesses at an Energy and Commerce Committee hearing this week said we should STOP exporting American natural gas, I had to push back with science.
