"He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful. So the poor have hope and injustice shuts its mouth."

- Job 5:15-16

Africa
- This past April, seven suspects attacked a widow named Achola and her family, entering into her home, looting and destroying household items and driving the whole family away from their land. The suspects went into hiding after the attack, but we praise God for the successful arrest of six of them by Ugandan police in August. There is still one outstanding suspect who has not been arrested - please pray with us that the police and IJM investigators will be able to trace and arrest him and bring Achola and her family the peace of mind they need.
Latin America
- Please pray for breakthrough in El Salvador as our team continues to collaborate with public justice officials to improve their capacity to respond to violent crimes against women and children. Recently our team facilitated a roundtable with over 20 Police Heads of Units to talk about ways to improve their police precincts' response to serving victims of violence. Please pray for grace, increased collaboration and great communication as we move forward. South Asia
- Please pray for a successful judgment in the case of Abha*, who was rescued from sex trafficking in 2015. Abha was sold for sex for years by a small network of traffickers, who subjected her to rape, drug use and other abuse. The trial against the 11 suspects in this case has been long and emotional, and Abha has been the only witness, testifying bravely throughout its duration. Please pray that the judgment would be given in the next few months - with strong convictions against each of the suspects - so that Abha can move on with her life and no other girls will be abused.

Southeast Asia
- So far this year, IJM has helped rescue nearly 100 victims of cybersex trafficking in the Philippines! Praise God for the effective law enforcement and social services that made these rescues possible, and continue to pray that God would build their capacity to identify more children who are suffering from this abuse. After rescue, IJM ensures that each child is provided the care and comfort they need. Pray that these rescued children find healing, joy and laughter through the work of our partners and IJM's team on the ground.

IJM HQ & Global Partners
IJM headquarters is located in the United States. IJM has
international advancement offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, the
Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

- Please pray for the IJM campus chapter student leaders as they begin a new semester. Pray that God would grant these students wisdom, energy and creativity as they seek to raise awareness of trafficking, and as they mobilize their peers to take action against injustice in concrete and tangible ways.
