Rubén Díaz Sr. has made a career out of opposing the LGBTQ community. He used his seat in the New York State Senate to vote against marriage equality bills in New York, even holding rallies against the bill. He advocated against teaching young people “homosexuality is O.K., that it is not immoral or sinful behavior”. And during a recent sexual harassment training, Díaz claimed he would refuse to report sexual harassment, stating he wouldn't "rat his people out". We can't allow Díaz to win a seat in Congress. She's long advocated against the ERA and once claimed LGBTQ adoption was “a social experiment on our children.” She tried to block marriage equality, even comparing it to slavery, and actively opposes adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes.
