Bernie Little Distributors celebrates groundbreaking of new facility

Bernie Little Distributors, a family-owned beer distributor based in Florida, celebrated their new facility with a groundbreaking ceremony. The company acquired about 40 acres last year, where they will begin a major expansion project. "We look forward to another successful 36 years of business and partnership in Highlands County," said Joe Little, president and CEO of Bernie Little.

Keg behemoths MicroStar and Kegstar are merging

The leading providers of keg services across three continents, MicroStar and Kegstar, announced their plan to combine their businesses. The merger is expected to be complete during the first half of 2021. "This merger keeps the best bits of our journey so far and will bring new levels of energy, global know-how and singular focus on keg management," remarked the Global Managing Director of Kegstar, Christian Barden. Michael Hrankicka, MicroStar's CEO and president, added, "Our cultures, geographies and capabilities are highly complementary."

A new style of IPA

The India Pale Ale, a staple of the beer scene, comes in so many varieties it's hard to keep track. The West Coast IPA, Hazy IPA, Northeast IPA, Brut IPA… the list goes on. Get ready to add a new one to the mix: the Cold IPA. The goal of this particular brew is a crisper version of the IPA. It's a crossover style created through a collaboration of breweries on the west coast -- an IPA brewed like a lager, kind of.

Black-owned breweries pay tribute to civil rights icons

In celebration of Black History Month, four breweries based in California collaborated on a line of limited IPAs that feature American civil rights activists. The beer cans that hold these brews are individually graced by Fred Allen Hampton, Fannie Lou Hamer, Ella Josephine Baker and James Baldwin -- each of whom were personally selected by the breweries.
