When President Joe Biden took office three weeks ago, he and his team went straight to work to develop a real plan to combat COVID and purchase more vaccine supplies.

Yesterday, President Biden announced weekly shipments of vaccines have increased by 30% and we now have enough vaccines to vaccinate everyone who wants one. This is real leadership for every American.

In Connecticut, we are now down to 2.3% positive rate, the lowest level we have seen in 3.5 months. As of this week, Connecticut has also vaccinated about 425,000 people, 40% of which are fully vaccinated.

If you are 65 years or older in Connecticut, you can submit your application for a vaccine appointment in the online Vaccine Administration Management System or by calling 877-918-2224 anytime between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, every day of the week.

We are on the right track to get this virus under control, rebuild our economy and return people to work. Let's continue our progress by wearing our masks, washing our hands and staying socially distant. We are still in this together.
