Last month, violent right-wing extremists broke into our nation’s Capitol and demanded a democratic election be overturned — all because Donald Trump and his enablers spread dangerous lies that the presidency was stolen from him.

As the Senate continues the impeachment trial of Donald Trump today, we cannot forget that he has fanned the flames of hatred, spread dangerous conspiracy theories, and attempted to undermine our democracy for the past four years. No more.

I want you to know that I am deeply committed to the job ahead and wholeheartedly respect the trust you have placed in me as your Senator. I will work as hard as I can to repair the damage of Trump’s failed presidency, hold him accountable, and get our country back on track.
