GGJ invites you to a special online watch party of the Berta Cáceres International Feminist Organizing School (IFOS) on Thursday, March 4! This school is an intentional space to strengthen international grassroots feminist movements, where participants from around the world will deepen their collective knowledge and political practices to fortify local struggles and co-create our vision of a Feminist
Economy. After a successful pilot online school last fall, we are excited for our first cohort of this 2021 school to meet this spring, from April to July. The school is inspired by the courageous feminist leadership of Brown, Black, Indigenous, and queer women and gender non-conforming people from around the world who are creating pathways for equity and justice.
On March 4, we also celebrate the birthday of Berta Cáceres, an Indigenous Honduran environmental justice leader killed by U.S.-trained elite military troops for her organizing. We are proud to name the IFOS after her and her untiring efforts with communities to stop the construction of a destructive dam
in the face of corporate malfeasance and violent attacks.
- Date: Thursday, March 4, 2021
- Time: 6 am - 8 am U.S. Pacifiic Time / 9 am - 11 am Eastern Time. International time zone calculator.
