Keeping children safe during lockdown During both periods of national lockdown we have seen an increase in accidental injuries to young children particularly those aged 0–2 as parents juggle their various responsibilities.
During this pandemic we know that many babies have been out of sight. Together with their parents, they have been suffering, distressed, isolated and feeling alone. So, while dedicated Team Oldham staff work diligently to support families, we encourage you all to keep these young families in mind, and offer as much support as the restrictions allow.

We would like to apologise to residents if any distress has been caused and ask that if you see any issues at Oldham cemeteries to email [email protected] or call 0161 681 1312.
Restoration of Failsworth War Memorial A project to restore Failsworth War Memorial will see more than £40,000 spent on the refurbishment of the memorial column and grounds in accordance with Commonwealth War Graves Commission and English Heritage guidelines.
Built in 1923, the memorial was erected to remember the 235 Failsworth men who lost their lives in the First World War. However, in recent times the 98-year-old structure has started to show its age and is need of attention.
Now work is set to start on 22 February when the memorial will be covered in scaffolding. More information is available here.
