Washington, DC - OCA𑁋Asian Pacific American Advocates makes the following statement regarding the release of the 2021 Lunar New Year Metal Ox Stamp ([link removed]) :

We are excited to see the release of the Metal Ox Stamp to mark the 2021 Lunar New Year. The ox is the second animal in the 12-animal cycle of the Chinese Zodiac, preceded by the rat and followed by the tiger. The inclusion of the Lunar New Year stamps with USPS originated in part to the advocacy of Jean Chen (longtime OCA Georgia member), Claudine Cheng (a longtime OCA member and past national president) and many others in the Chinese, Chinese American, and Asian American community members urging for our stories and our culture to be present. We applaud their efforts, and look forward to all of the stamps that will be released in this Lunar New Year series.

The stamp is available for purchase in USPS locations and online.

OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates is a national civil rights organization dedicated to improving the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs).
