There’s been a lot of disinformation from the extreme right around impeachment and the attacks at the Capitol. So, let’s set the record straight:
Trump and several members of the Republican Party have spent years trying to divide us, and their lies led to a deadly attack on our democracy. Now they are trying to avoid responsibility for their actions by pointing the finger at us.
They’re attacking Alexandria for sharing her experience at the Capitol. They’re saying that she’s exaggerating, that she’s divisive — even that she should apologize. This is all an attempt to distract, in hopes we all just let the events of and leading up to January 6 go.
Alexandria will never stop fighting for accountability. But she is being bombarded by Republicans and the right-wing mediasphere who will do anything to distract from their role in the insurrection, including minimizing the experience of survivors and attacking Alexandria for bravely telling her story last week.
