Dear Friend,
PETA has learned that the National Institutes of Health (NIH)—the largest funder of animal experimentation worldwide—is planning to earmark funds for the increased use of marmoset monkeys in laboratories , reportedly, by expanding or establishing breeding colonies or funding projects to breed transgenic marmosets.
While marmosets are intelligent, social, and sensitive animals, it appears that NIH's decision to ramp up the use of them in experimentation is based largely on the fact that they are small, cooperative, and easy to breed. This effort will only waste taxpayer dollars and drive up the number of animals used in painful and deadly experiments.
Please join PETA in calling on NIH to scrap its cruel and unscientific plan.
Take Action Now! [[link removed]]Thank you for your compassion for animals.
Sincerely,
Kathy Guillermo
