Hello,
In drafting the case against Donald Trump, the House impeachment managers wrote, “If provoking an insurrectionary riot against a Joint Session of Congress after losing an election is not an impeachable offense, it is hard to imagine what would be.”
Failing to convict Donald Trump would open the floodgates for further attacks on our institutions. It would tell the right-wing of the GOP that there is no accountability for attacking our democracy, American voters, or the truth.
And yet it seems that the GOP's efforts to sweep Trump's actions under the rug are already working. According to The Associated Press, only 47% of Americans believe the Senate should convict Donald Trump.
So today, we're conducting our own poll -- and we need to hear from you. Please, let us know if progressive Democrats like you still believe in upholding truth, seeking accountability, and protecting our democracy:
Should the Senate convict Donald Trump?
Thanks so much for making your voice heard.
We deeply value your input as we seek to reform our government and fight back against Trump's extremist legacy.
