John,

As we approach the third anniversary of the Parkland school shooting, I am furious that we still haven't passed meaningful gun reform. I am furious that we haven't done what we need to do to keep our kids safe at school, shoppers safe in Walmarts, or moviegoers safe in theaters.

Parkland was just one of the many senseless acts of gun violence that occurs daily in our country. Just a month and a half into 2021, this year has already seen 49 mass shootings in the United States.

We know about the most horrific -- the most deadly -- of these attacks. We know about Parkland and about Sandy Hook. About Aurora and about Las Vegas. About the school shooting right here in Santa Clarita Valley at Saugus High School, just over a year ago.

But every single day, there are people killed by gun violence whose names will not make cable news. There are acts of domestic violence. There are suicides. There are accidents that happen when children play with unsecured guns.

It has to stop.

And now, with Democrats in control in Washington, we have a chance to see the change we so desperately need.

I'm calling on the Senate to finally take action to end the senseless plague of gun violence in our country, but we need folks like you to sign on and show your support. Can I count on you to add your name beside mine, John? Gun violence is a uniquely American problem. We have the highest number of guns per person of any country in the world and one of the world's highest rates of gun violence -- rates far, far higher than those of peer countries like Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

This is an American problem. And it requires an American solution.

With reasonable, responsible legislation, we can end the epidemic of violence. We can keep our people safe.

John, take just two minutes to sign our petition calling on the Senate to take action against gun violence immediately.

Thank you for your support,

Christy
