Dear AFSCME Family,
The “union difference.” It’s about having a voice on the job and a seat at the table. It’s about getting the respect you deserve for everything you do for your community. And it’s why we help new groups of workers organize unions for the first time — so that they have the power to negotiate for living wages, fair treatment and investment in public services.
The union difference means you earn the wages that reflect how hard you work for your community.
The union difference means you’re more likely to enjoy a secure, dignified retirement after years of hard work.
Union members are better trained and better protected than our nonunion counterparts.
Being in a union means that we have access to affordable health care and other benefits so we can protect the ones we love.
Let’s make sure all workers — those who are already part of our union and those who have yet to join us — understand the union difference.
