John,

Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman in Congress and the first Black American to seek the nomination for President from a major political party, once said, “You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.”

We have to hold our legislators accountable to implement our ideas for environmental progress. Launched in 2020, Evergreen Future is our four year campaign to push elected officials across the state to support bolder environmental action.

With the 2021 legislative session happening virtually, there are fresh and accessible ways to get civically engaged in a historically confusing legislative process. While it can feel overwhelming or discouraging to get lost in the chaos of it all when things change quickly, we created an Evergreen Future bill tracker to make sense of the environmental the work happening in the Legislature at the intersection of environmental, racial, and economic justice.

We provide the list of the bills the Evergreen Future campaign supports or opposes that fall under at least one of the Evergreen Future Pillars; Act on Climate, Clean Water and Healthy Forests, Environmental Justice and Public Health, and Holding Corporate Polluters Accountable. You may not see every bill that uplifts environmental, racial, and economic justice on this tracker, but you'll see bills that we have prioritized under the Evergreen Future platform and we will continually update the tracker as their status changes.

We employ various accountability measures to demand more from our electeds and act on our shared vision to work towards an Evergreen Future for all — because bold environmental progress comes when we work hard to implement our ideas. Thank you for all you do,
