The Fight for a Hunger Free America This February
President Biden has signed an executive order to increase SNAP benefits by 15 percent and to expand the Pandemic-EBT Program for children. This is a huge victory for the anti-hunger movement, as the executive order allows families who were already receiving maximum SNAP allotments to receive an additional boost in addition to providing more funds to families with children whose schools have been closed during the pandemic.
HFA CEO Joel Berg declared the order "the boldest, biggest administrative step to fight hunger that any administration has taken... in the modern era."
