According to a report by the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach could see a nearly two foot rise in sea levels by 2050.

But confronting the threat of recurrent flooding and more frequent and severe storms isn't just about our quality of life and future growth -- when considering all of the military and federal government installations in our region, global warming is also a major national security risk.

Climate change is a real and present threat to our way of life -- and I’m committed to ensuring we have the infrastructure and resources we need to promote Coastal Virginia’s resiliency.
