“Maryland lawmakers demand U.S. Postal Service take action to fix delivery delays”
- WMAR Baltimore
Recently, I’ve heard from Marylanders who are experiencing weeks-long mail delays. That might sound familiar to what you and your neighbors are experiencing in your own community
People are waiting on critical prescription medications, workers are waiting for paychecks, families are receiving bills late and incurring late fees, and small businesses are struggling to fill orders on time.
Americans depend on the Postal Service for essential services -- especially in the middle of a pandemic. Will you add your name to mine and join me in calling on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to take action to end the mail delays and restore services? [[link removed]]

These mail delays are all too familiar to the ones we all experienced this past summer when the USPS underwent staff shortages due to the pandemic.
DeJoy, a major Trump donor, assumed his role at the head of the Postal Service during the Trump Administration, and under DeJoy’s leadership, the USPS has made extreme budget cuts and policy changes. Now, President Biden has inherited a Postal Service that’s at the brink of financial disaster.
Since the beginning of the USPS crisis, I’ve been fighting to secure the financial aid the agency needs to fulfill the essential service it has provided to Marylanders and Americans across the country for nearly 250 years.
Now, I joined other members of Maryland’s congressional delegation in writing a letter to Postmaster DeJoy calling on him to use the $10 billion grant Congress gave to the USPS at the beginning of the pandemic to decrease mail delays and improve services. And I stand ready to work with the Biden Administration to return the USPS to the reliable service for which it has been known for more than two centuries.
We need a surge of grassroots support to put pressure on leaders at the Postal Service. Add your name and join me in calling on the USPS to end the extreme mail delays and improve services for the Americans depending on them. [[link removed]]
