Hello,

Entire generations have built their lives and earned their livelihoods on Puget Sound. But if future generations are going to have the same opportunities, we need to prioritize Puget Sound's restoration and recovery now.

Derek relaunched the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus for the 117th Congress to ensure the federal government steps up in key recovery efforts like:
• preventing pollution from stormwater runoff;
• protecting and restoring habitats;
• and restoring and re-opening shellfish beds.

Listen, the federal government has a moral obligation not only to protect our environment, but also to protect our economic interests and our communities. Add your name next to Derek's to support the restoration of the Sound.

Already, President Biden has taken a number of first steps to address the climate crisis, including protecting some of the most environmentally-sensitive parts of our nation and getting the United States back in the Paris Climate Agreement. But that should only be the start.

The United States needs to be an active participant and a leader in the battle to combat climate change and to protect clean water. That's why Derek is calling for immediate action to protect our environment and build a greener economy.

We simply can't afford to sit on the sidelines any longer. To support the restoration of the Sound, please add your name next to Derek's today.
