Democrats can pass a federal clean electricity standard without Republicans' help. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Evergreen

Friend,

It's been just a few days since we dropped our newest policy report with Evergreen and Data for Progress, "A Roadmap to 100% Clean Electricity by 2035." We are thrilled by the enthusiastic responses, from Governor Jay Inslee, environmental stalwarts like the Sierra Club and Sunrise Movement, and climate champions like Senator Ed Markey.

Activists and policymakers agree that our roadmap to 100% clean electricity shows how it can be done: with or without Republican support.

But don't take our word for it. Here's what a few major players in the climate movement have said about our new report:

  • Senator Tina Smith: "I commend Dr. Stokes and Evergreen for this new report, which outlines how Congress has multiple tools to get this important policy done."
  • Bill McKibben: "A very good idea, very well explained!"
  • Senator Martin Heinrich: "Evergreen and Data for Progress have put forward a number of options that Congress should consider as we turn to implementing the full Build Back Better agenda."
  • Tom Steyer: "A clear and practical roadmap. Great read!"

We're thrilled to see it gaining so much traction already, and we look forward to spreading it far and wide in the coming months. This is just the beginning: We must ensure that Congress acts this year on 100% clean electricity by 2035!

Thanks,

Professor Leah Stokes
