John,

For nearly a year, we've been battling the COVID-19 pandemic. It's turned our world upside down and we've had to face challenges unlike ever before.

However, we are Kansans. When things get hard, we work together and persevere. We've had to adjust to working remotely, wearing masks, staying home, and so much more. It hasn't been easy, but there is a light at the end of all of this.

Since the first case in Kansas, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken more than 4,000 Kansans from their loved ones. Now a vaccine has been developed, and I've shared my COVID-19 vaccine timeline for vaccine distribution across the state. Earlier this month, we launched the Find my Vaccine tool that helps Kansans locate vaccination sites within their community. If you are in Phase 1 or 2 of the vaccination plan, you can find your nearest vaccine site here.

Just because we have a vaccine developed doesn't mean we can stop doing our part to combat the virus. I am strongly encouraging every Kansan to continue to practice social distancing, wear a mask, and stay home whenever it's possible. The only way we'll be able to end this pandemic is by working together and putting others first.

But we're not just focused on vaccines, we're also focused on how we can repair our economy and aid Kansans. COVID-19 has brought unprecedented challenges for hard-working Kansans, their families, and their businesses -- and they need relief as soon as possible. So my administration is taking legislative action that will provide tax relief to the vast majority of Kansas families and assist in our state's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you,

Laura
