Dear John,
The first day of Trump’s second impeachment trial was such a train wreck that even Senate Republicans were forced to admit that Trump’s defense has been “terrible.”
Day two may have been even worse, with horrifying, never-before-seen security video and body camera footage from Capitol Police attacked by Trump’s mob.
The case being presented by House impeachment managers is devastating.
Already, one Republican senator changed his vote on whether to go forward with the trial, and the more votes we get for conviction, the closer we are to sending Trumpism to the ash heap of history, where it belongs.
We’re using our massive social media following to push the most important and convincing evidence of Trump’s crimes out to the American people—but we rely on small donations from folks like you to help power our operation and get our message out to the widest audience possible.
Will you make a donation to help support our work as we push to hold Donald Trump accountable for inciting a deadly insurrection against the U.S. government—including but not limited to conviction in the Senate? [[link removed]]
House impeachment managers have shown that long before November 3, Trump told his followers the only way Biden could win was through “a dangerous, wide-ranging conspiracy against them that threatened America itself.”
After the election, Trump claimed he won in a “landslide,” and he told the MAGA faithful to “fight to the death” against a free and fair election that he described as an “act of war.”
Then, on January 6, Trump summoned the mob to Washington and rallied them to storm the U.S. Capitol, fomenting a riot that left five dead. The video shown yesterday was chilling to anyone with a moral compass.
Already, 10 Republicans in the House voted for impeachment, and six in the Senate have signaled a willingness to support conviction—and that was before this new footage. Every single Repubican senator who joins us in holding Trump accountable helps ensure that Trump and Trumpism will never get back into power, and we need to make sure that we use this moment to get more of them on board.
Inequality Media Civic Action is one of the only progressive voices on the internet with the reach to fight the far-right conspiracy theorists , and we’re using every platform to amplify the most compelling evidence presented by House impeachment managers and keep the pressure on Senate Republicans.
