Hi John,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself in case we haven’t met yet. My name is Shivanthi Sathanandan. Over the past few years, I’ve served as the Party’s Outreach Officer, and now, I’m excited to step into a new role as your newly elected Second Vice Chair!
Minnesota’s future is bright with possibilities, but communities across our state are in need of healing after Donald Trump’s divisive presidency. As Second Vice Chair, I am wasting no time getting to work building coalitions with Minnesotans outside of the traditional party infrastructure.
As a Party, we must invest resources in building authentic relationships by listening to community members and understanding the issues most important to them. To be successful, we have to meet people where they are and deliver messages to them in effective ways throughout the year – not just during election time.
Some state parties make the mistake of only doing work in election years. But here at the DFL, we know early investments across the state make a big difference, and I can’t wait to get to work immediately. But to do that, I need your help.
