Save the Children Action Network is the political voice for kids.

Hi John –

Did you see Fatin’s email below? It’s a powerful reminder of what’s at stake for our children, parents and early educators in the next stimulus package.

I know we've been reaching out for months – almost a year! – about the need to save the child care industry. Unfortunately, as Fatin reminds us, the need is still huge. Past funding from Congress simply hasn’t been enough.

We have an opportunity to secure the necessary funding to keep child care providers open and support the development and growth of our nation’s children. But we need Congress to hear us loud and clear – investing in child care is a must!

Will you take a quick minute and urge Congress to support child care funding in the next stimulus package?

Tell Congress to have a heart and invest in child care!

Congress is negotiating an economic stimulus package right now. We need them to have a heart and invest in our kids’ futures! Send a message today urging Congress to prioritize child care in the next relief bill!

Hi John -

I'm an early educator at a high-quality child care center in Denver. I want to continue to love and take care of Colorado's children.

But like so many other child care providers, we’re struggling to stay open.

Our operating costs have increased – a lot. Gloves are expensive. Special sanitation supplies are expensive. And we still have to pay rent and utilities.

At the same time, fewer children are able to come to our center to learn and grow. Many of their parents are out of work. Or they are staying home to help their remote-learning siblings. That means our revenue is way down.

This is not a sustainable business model.

That’s why I’m excited to participate in Save the Children Action Network’s Have a Heart – Invest in Kids! campaign. Through this campaign, we’re urging Congress to support child care funding in President Biden’s stimulus plan.

Will you send a message to Congress today asking them to have a heart and invest in child care?

My center is in a wonderful community, full of the diversity that helps our state and country thrive. The toddlers and preschoolers who are still able to come are so resilient! They have gotten used to the new rules – from mask wearing to not hugging their favorite teacher.

But many of the children and families we serve are struggling. So many have lost their jobs because of the COVID crisis.

That means they aren’t bringing their kids to my center any longer. And their children are missing out on high-quality early learning. As a result, they may start kindergarten behind.

And when the economy improves, their moms and dads can’t return to work without quality child care.

It’s urgent that Congress hear from us today!

The uncertainty of whether and when Congress will act is really hard. The child care funding Congress passed in December was a great start, but it is not enough to get us through the difficult months ahead.

Each day that goes by without help means another day that child care providers like me – and countless others around the country – struggle to keep our doors open.

I’m taking it day by day. And I’m hopeful that together we can persuade Congress to have a heart and invest in our nation's children.

Please join me in sending a quick message today!

Thank you for all you do,
