Republicans like Lindsay Graham and Rand Paul argue that this impeachment trial is pointless now that Trump is out of office.

But I say this trial is still incredibly important if we want to uphold the American ideal that no one is above the law. By preventing Trump from ever holding federal office again, we demonstrate to everyone watching — both domestically and from abroad — that threats to our democracy will not be tolerated.

So please, speak up. Add your name to call on the U.S. Senate to convict Donald Trump of “incitement to insurrection.”

This trial is about more than just Trump’s guilt. Any Republican Senator who does not vote to convict for a crime they saw unfold in front of their eyes is also guilty of betraying our nation and our democracy.

History will not be kind to them.
