It’s a real headline in a major Wisconsin newspaper. 

 

Wisconsin’s school board elections are next week and in the city of Milwaukee, two candidates are members of the Democratic Socialists of America. 

 

Some contend that conservatives use the word 'socialism' as a political weapon or as a scare tactic. But right now, it's an accurate labeling.

Look no further than Milwaukee's school boards:  

 

"A Democratic Socialist slate of two candidates, Dana Kelley and Alex Brower in Districts 4 and 5, is endorsed by the teachers union, the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association."

 

What does this say about the Milwaukee Teachers' Education Association?

 

"If either succeed, they would be the first openly Socialist office winners in Milwaukee since 1956."

 

What are these candidates’ top priorities?

 

Keeping schools closed through the year and bringing the Green New Deal to Milwaukee Public Schools. 

This isn't fake news. 

 

This isn't hyperbole. 

 

This is real and children in Wisconsin will pay the price.
