National Marriage Week
February 7-14, 2021

This week is recognized as National Marriage Week, a time to promote the foundational institution of society, that unique relationship between one man and one woman that brings unique benefits not only to the individuals in a marriage but also to society as a whole. Meanwhile those seeking to dismantle the nuclear family, which is built around marriage, are now talking about “family privilege,” saying it is exclusionary and harmful to not recognize and treat all family configurations as equal and good, in spite of vast research to the contrary.

So the “privilege” idea has gained such momentum it can now be attached to even the most important institution in any culture. This effort needs serious pushback. Christians should take the lead in both word and example. Let’s use this week to celebrate God’s plan for marriage in every way we can with special recognitions, parties and stories of marriages that have gone the distance.

Tomorrow, Friday, February 12, is "Day of Purity"
Youth encouraged to take public stand for purity
From Liberty Counsel:
"The annual opportunity for young people to influence their peers in a positive way is approaching.

Holly Meade, international director for the Liberty Counsel Day of Purity, tells One News Now February 14th is typically the official day of the event.

'However, this year we are asking students to celebrate it on February 12th, since that is a Friday,' she continues. 'We're encouraging students to wear white on that day to publicly promote abstinence and stand for purity and hopefully inspire other young people to do the same and save intimacy for marriage.'

The Day of Purity is based on 1 Timothy 4:12, which reads, "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Families: The Basic Units of Any Society
Katalin Novak serves as Hungary’s Minister for Families.
Katalin Novak serves as Hungary’s Minister for Families.

While the United States struggles to understand basic truths about humankind, Hungary is codifying them. Lifesite news reports that recently Katalin Novak, Hungary’s Minister for Families, remarked that amendments to that country’s constitution include the definition of a mother as a woman and of a father as a man because the people of Hungary “want to defend our children and let them be children without using them for any ideological base,” adding that the government and people believe “the best interest of the child and well-being are paramount.” Read more HERE.

"Bravo, Hungary!," says Julaine Appling, WFA president, "This Hungarian Minister also noted that 'political ideology seems to trump science and reason.' Certainly that is the case in our country, where advancing the transgender agenda is a top priority for the new president. Caught in this political crossfire are children, who in far too many ways and places, including public schools, are daily told lies about how God made them."
