Dear John,
You know yourself and what you need better than anyone, and the same is true for people who have abortions. There is a diverse range of ways people experience abortion, including self-managed abortion care.
PRH Fellow and family medicine physician Dr. April Lockley shared her thoughts on recognizing the need for talking about self-managed abortion care and the role it can play in shifting decision making power and bodily autonomy back to patients.
I hope you’ll take some time to read Dr. Lockley’s timely op-ed over at Rewire News Group.
We’re grateful to Dr. Lockley for sharing her experience advocating for patients making their own reproductive decisions, whether they take place in a health care facility or at home.
Your support of PRH gives our team the ability to prepare and mobilize physician advocates like Dr. Lockley who go beyond their exam rooms to fight for reproductive health care that actually meets patients’ needs and is safe, affordable, and comprehensive.
As we face an ongoing pandemic that's growing economic insecurity and racial injustice, removing barriers to abortion care is more important than ever.
Thank you for supporting the work needed to expand access to essential health care at this critical time.
Sincerely,
Kelsey Brill (she/her/hers)
