John,

We have seen the terrifying scope of the climate crisis — wildfires in the west, flooding in the midwest and hurricanes in the Gulf Coast. Climate change is an existential threat. We need leaders and policies to treat it that way.

We can stop climate chaos, but only if we come together to demand real action against fracking by taking on the fossil fuel industry. That’s why Food & Water Watch is ramping up our national campaign to ban fracking nationwide. We’ve joined a coalition of progressive allies to fight for our climate in a week of action, through Saturday, February 13, to tell President Biden: You can’t end climate change unless you #BuildBackFossilFree.

President Biden continues to support fracking even while making big commitments to address the climate crisis. A few weeks ago, in his speech on climate action, he said “We will listen to the science” after just minutes earlier saying “We are not banning fracking.” These positions are totally incompatible! It’s up to all of us to turn up the pressure on President Biden to demand that he ban fracking now, once and for all!

Watch our video asking President Biden to listen to the science and ban fracking now! Take action then help spread the message to ban fracking by sharing on social media.

To reverse course and stop climate chaos, we must directly take on the fossil fuel industry and ban fracking now. Otherwise, the dangerous drilling and infrastructure will continue — even under weak “clean energy” plans. Allowing Big Oil & Gas to continue with more fracking, pipelines, storage facilities, export terminals and fracked gas power plants can’t bring a clean energy future — because there’s nothing clean about fracking.

President Biden has a huge opportunity to take real action to protect our environment. That starts with all of us demanding change and holding the president accountable to build back fossil free! Here’s what you can do to spread the message:

Here’s a sample social media post for you to get started: I’m joining @foodandwater & thousands of others to tell @JoeBiden: You can’t #BuildBackFossilFree unless you #BanFracking! Fracking is dangerous to human health and it’s driving climate change.

Fossil fuels have no place in a clean energy future; relying on them will only drive us closer to climate catastrophe. We must ban fracking and begin to dismantle the fossil fuel infrastructure driving climate chaos. Join me and thousands of others in urging President Biden to take the bold climate action we need to address the climate crisis and #BuildBackFossilFree.

Together, we have the power to protect our families and communities from reckless, dangerous drilling.

Onward together,
