Friend,
The pandemic has proven just how critical our postal service is. Whether it’s deliveries of ballots and voter guides, care packages from family across the country or life-saving medicine, the USPS has kept us connected when we need it the most.
While postal workers have been braving snow, rain, heat and the coronavirus, they’ve had to face an even bigger hurdle: the USPS’s own Board of Governors.
SIGN NOW: Protect the Postal Service in your town!
The Postal Board of Governors sets Postal Service policy. It hires, fires and holds accountable the Postmaster General. The board members are appointed by the president; a majority of the Trump administration appointees were Republican corporate executives who were intent on privatizing and cutting back a critical public good that is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution — something that would jeopardize rural families’ ability to send and receive mail, delay your deliveries and destroy good union jobs.
Now, with a new White House administration and a new Senate majority, we have the opportunity to fill board vacancies with pro-worker appointees who know that the USPS is a public good that must be protected.
Right now, more than 80,000 people have signed petitions calling for board members who will fight for the USPS we deserve. Will you add your name too?
The calls are getting louder. Members of Congress, postal workers and communities across the country know that we need a USPS Board of Governors that will safeguard and expand the public Postal Service.
Join thousands of other American families in calling for a Board of Governors that wants to continue the mission that Benjamin Franklin envisioned for a fair, affordable postal system that ensures every person has the freedom to communicate, regardless of ZIP code.
SIGN: Tell President Biden we need USPS Board of Governors members who are looking out for working families!
In solidarity,
Sydney Roberts
