Hi John,
Yes, there are critical state and local elections happening this year -- and yes, Run for Something is mobilizing (early and often) to ensure diverse, young progressives have the support they need to win lasting power.
That work continues today, with our next endorsement class of 2021: 42 candidates that will drive progress and help rebuild Democrats' political infrastructure from the local level up.
Their elections are well underway, but they can't do it all on their own, now it's your chance to jump in and make a difference, John.
Meet our first election class of 2021, read about their priorities and ambitions.
Here's more about our entire 2021 class:
I don't need to tell you how important it is to invest in and contend for every race we can -- this community knows what's on the line. From reproductive justice to voting rights, state and local races have the biggest impact on our day-to-day lives.
But I do want to remind you that there are NO off years. Complacency and apathy are the enemies of progress.
Even if our new group of endorsed candidates aren't running where you live, whether or not they win still has an impact on your life. It's cities and counties and states controlled by Republicans that pass the type of anti-choice, anti-LGBTQIA+, white supremacist laws that make it to the Supreme Court and affect all of us.
So whether our amazing 42 candidates are fighting for progress in your neighborhood for on a different coast -- chip in to help support their campaigns.
Thanks,
Amanda Litman
