My name is Brenda Rodriguez and I’m the new Storybank Organizer with BBP & IPN! I have been living in Las Vegas two years now and I’m a current student at UNLV majoring in Political Science. I started getting involved in politics during the 2016 election, I’ve registered people to vote at my old college, and recently I worked with Chispa NV as a canvasser. I’m also a DACA recipient, which made me want to be heavily involved with politics given the fact that certain policies impact my life tremendously. I also recently became a mom to a six month old baby boy who loves to eat all the time. I’ll be interviewing people to listen to what they have gone through and help them find their voice to take action. I’ll be collecting stories to present to the lawmakers, the press, and the public to show how people are affected by the issues most important to Nevadans. My particular focus in the short term will be stories related to the effects of air pollution and the need for equitable, inclusive climate policy in our state. Please feel welcome to connect friends and family with me so we can start spreading the word. I can’t wait to meet you and share our stories with one another! Looking forward to getting to know all of you, Brenda Rodriguez |
