With your help, we’re fighting like hell to hold not only Trump
accountable, but also the members of Congress who helped create the
atmosphere that led to the Capitol riot on January 6 and have had Trump’s
back since then. And we will KEEP fighting for accountability … including
for senators who refuse to do their constitutional duty by convicting and
disqualifying Trump.

There is no defense for Trump inciting an insurrection against the country
he swore to defend. Every argument put forward by his legal team and his
far-right political allies has been a joke. Yet still, right-wing senators
are indicating that they’re willing to ignore reality and shut their eyes,
ears, and minds to the facts of the case against Trump.

As Rep. Jamie Raskin, the head impeachment manager for the House (and
former People For Senior Fellow), said in the opening day of the Senate
trial yesterday, they’re trying to create a “January exception” in the
Constitution … a legal black hole that will allow a corrupt president to
do anything with complete impunity in their final weeks in office.

And yes, that is as ridiculous and dangerous as it seems. We can’t let
them get away with it.
