Craig Hickman is currently running in a special election for a vital State Senate seat -- and he needs our help.

I’ll admit that this election is a little personal for me. This is my senate district and I can’t think of a better person to represent me in Augusta than Craig. He’s an organic farmer, small business owner, poet, chef, artist, author, and humanitarian. If elected, he would be the only Black and only openly gay member of the Maine State Senate. As a state representative, he always worked across the aisle to advance policies that move Maine forward. He fought hard to strengthen communities and make life better for people -- and we want to see him continue that work in the State Senate.

The Maine GOP is doing everything they can to flip this seat -- a district Biden won by only 295 votes. They know that this special election could set the tone for 2022. This is exactly the kind of rural district that Democrats need to win in order to grow our party. We can’t let our guard down and we can’t give any ground.
