Hi John,

A lot has happened this week. With the release of a disturbing transcript summary and the whistleblower complaint, we got a closer look into just how the President of the United States is trying to use the foreign policy of the United States to target a political rival and then attempt to hide the facts from the American people. All to further his own interests at the expense of our national security.

Let me be clear where I stand: What Donald Trump has done here is a complete and utter abuse of power, and it endangers our democracy. I firmly believe that Congress should come together to defend the constitution, the rule of law and the American people against this gross misuse of power. Congress must exercise our role in our system of checks and balances.

Unfortunately, I still have many colleagues from across the aisle who are refusing to join us in what should be a bipartisan effort and are turning a blind eye to corruption.

This is why our majority in Congress has never been more important, John.

IF YOU BELIEVE IN KEEPING OUR MAJORITY AND PRESERVING CHECKS AND BALANCES -- DONATE TOWARD OUR FEC DEADLINE NOW >> ([link removed])

Those who try to pull the wool over the eyes of the American people will be pouring over the FEC reports of all our newly elected members of Congress -- including me.

They’re hoping that through a series of distractions, they can keep the American people in the dark and downplay the President’s actions. Help us send a message to them now by showing that the American people are fully on our side and support our work to seek the truth. ([link removed])

No one is above the law. Especially the President. Let’s make sure he knows that.

-Colin
