Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently took to Instagram Live to share her harrowing experience hiding in her office bathroom on Jan. 6:

“All of a sudden I hear that whoever was trying to get inside got into my office,” she said on her stream. “And then I just start to hear these yells of ‘Where is she?! Where is she?!' And I just thought to myself, ‘They got inside.'”

“This is the moment I thought everything was over.”

For many members of Congress, especially the women of color who Trump and his supporters had already singled out for years, there was a real fear that Jan. 6 would be their last day serving the American people.

But the GOP takes a different view.

Despite the trauma the Capitol attack inflicted on their colleagues, they are still refusing to acknowledge the role they played in inciting it and the danger they placed our very democracy in -- and they have resorted to telling Democrats to just move on. That's why we need to know now:
