Over the past few years, NIRH Action Fund has worked with partners in New Mexico to build power and elect champions for reproductive freedom. And it has been working -- in 2020, voters came out in sweeping support of progressive change, setting the stage for future legislative wins to protect marginalized communities and expand access to reproductive health care.

Next up, we need to ensure New Mexico removes an outdated abortion ban from 1969 that could make abortion a felony and jeopardize access to safe and legal abortion care in New Mexico. Will you join our partner, Planned Parenthood of Rocky Mountains, for a phonebank to call New Mexico legislators to urge them to get rid of the 1969 abortion ban? [link removed]

The removal of this ban is exactly the type of proactive advocacy we work with partners across the country to push forward. With a Supreme Court firmly hostile to reproductive freedom, advocacy at the state and local levels is even more critical for the future of abortion access.
