John,

We're less than a week away from Trump's conviction trial in the Senate, and Joe Biden has broken his silence, saying it would be ludicrous to not move a conviction forward.

And yet a reporter from POLITICO warned against convicting Trump on MSNBC, saying that his “base is only getting stronger” and that “an impeachment conviction would make him even more powerful.”

In her words, many Americans “don't want to hear anything against Trump,” especially not his supporters.

A number of representatives, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Katie Porter, have been vulnerable with the American people this week and expressed the fear they felt on January 6 when a mob of white supremacists and extremists incited by Trump invaded the Capitol.

We shouldn't sweep that under the rug for fear of upsetting Trump's base. And we shouldn't let this attack on our democracy stand unchecked.

But Republicans believe America has “moved on” from the violence we witnessed that day, and they are counting on constituent apathy to help Trump evade the law one last time. That's why today, before the trial begins, we need to hear from you. Will you help us rebuild the political momentum to hold Trump accountable? Please tell us now:

Do you think the Senate should convict Donald Trump?

YES   NO

Thank you for making your voice heard today.
