With billions of emails being sent daily, the success of your email outreach and fundraising campaigns depends on the savvy use of some of the latest tools to make sure your message gets heard.

Today, we are launching our new Drag & Drop Editor in Targeted Email that will help you more easily create mobile-ready and professional emails - and doesn’t require any specialized technical knowledge.

Our Drag & Drop Editor is a visual and intuitive experience that will help you drop text and images where you want them and add more advanced elements like action buttons, video preview images, social media links, and more. And, it has the same great segmentation and personalization features that you’ve come to expect from our tools.

And, if you just want a quick start before you hop in, we’ve got answers right now for your most pressing questions.

Can I do everything I did before with the Drag & Drop Editor?
For this initial launch, the Drag & Drop Editor offers you all the basics for creating image-rich emails, as well as the ability to personalize email content using merge fields. We’re hard at work adding in the other more advanced features currently; look for these releases over the next few weeks and months:
* enabling A/B testing emails as an option if you select Drag & Drop Editor
* adding Smart Links as a content option when you add a text block, a button, or an image to your layout
* enabling the Track Your Efforts query string builder

Is the existing editor going away?
Not any time soon - and neither are Themes and Reusables . You are more than welcome to continue to use Targeted Email in the same way you always have.

Are merge fields available? I can’t find them.
Yes! Merge fields are still available. From any text content block, you can select More > Merge Fields from the text formatting toolbar.

Can I use my current Themes and Reusables with the new Drag & Drop Editor?
No. Unfortunately, the Drag & Drop Editor works differently than our Classic Editor and does not integrate with existing Themes and Reusables .

The Drag & Drop Editor needs to control code in the head content as well as most of the code that controls the styling and structure. Instead, there are new Templates right now that you can use to get going quickly on any email. In the future, we plan to add new types of Reusables that will work with the drag and drop experience.

Can I use my existing images with the new Drag and Drop Editor?
Yes! You have access to the same image library as you do now.

Can I edit the source code of my email?
Sorry, you cannot edit the source code of an email created in the Drag & Drop Editor . The markup for the Drag & Drop Editor is much more structured than that of the Classic Editor .

Changing the source code could cause your email to render incorrectly.
However, you can add blocks of HTML code to your email. This is an advanced option and it’s always a good idea to test how your email renders in different email clients by using the Preview and Send Sample Email options.

Can I use the Drag & Drop Editor with Automation and Triggered Emails?
Soon! We’ll be adding the new editor option into Triggered Emails , Automation , and Email Series in a few weeks.

We know folks are excited to use the new Drag & Drop Editor and we didn’t want to delay access any longer. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us by using the Send Product Feedback link available under your name in the top right-hand corner of NGP.
