Even with Donald Trump out of the White House, Republicans like Rand Paul and Josh Hawley are still trying to defend him. But Sen. Tammy Duckworth isn't having any of it.
“Stop covering for Donald Trump,” said Sen. Duckworth on CNN. “We all saw with our own eyes, we heard with our own ears President Trump and what he did to incite the violence. Then we also heard from all of the people in the riots who spoke up and said that they were doing this because President Trump told them to do so.”
Sen. Duckworth is absolutely right: Republicans are just covering for Trump, and they think the American people can't see right through their flimsy excuses.
That's why we're working overtime to support diverse Democratic candidates and elected officials who will hold Republicans accountable for defending Trump's unforgivable behavior. But we're low on funds, and we still need $3,976 by midnight we're going to hit our goal.
